CCDC

The TU Collegiate Cyber Defense Team (TUCCDC) is one of the university’s two primary competitive cyber teams. The event is a blue team style competition where students must defend a “corporate” network from an adversarial red team comprised of professional hackers. Each spring, a team of TU students competes in the southwest regional circuit (hosted at the University of Tulsa) with hopes of advancing to the national event at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The TU team makes routine appearances at the regional event and advanced to nationals in 2017, 2019, and 2020.

Tryouts for the team are typically held at the beginning of the fall semester. There are 8 primary positions and 4 alternate positions, with 2 of these positions being potentially available to graduate students.

Placement

  • 2021-2024
    • 2nd place in the South West region.
  • 2020
    • 1st place in the South West region and went to Nationals.
  • 2019
    • 1st place in the South West region and went to Nationals.
  • 2018
    • 2nd place in the South West region.
  • 2017
    • 1st place in the South West region and 2nd place in Nationals.
